I vividly remember driving when I saw an Army veteran missing a leg sitting on a cardboard box with nothing but his hat in his hands. I immediately got to work making bags filled with things a person in that situation might need: socks, underwear, granola, water, and a five-dollar bill. I felt something great come over me. I have so much to be thankful for in my life, my situation. I wanted to help.
This is how I'm going to make a positive impact on my community.
